It's been a few days

I have been slowing working on the engine. Mostly getting ready for painting. I have cataloged some parts and installed all of the 1/8 pipe plugs in the case and assy case. I have installed the oil pump and put a 1/8 fitting on the bottom of the sump for a sniffle valve to let fuel out when the engine stops.

Bret's RV-9A said...: IMPORTANT NOTE! While installing the oil pump on my Titan kit, we followed the ECI hardware Manual which called out a torque of 204 in/lbs. We subsequently broke a stud on the accessory case. We called ECI and they said this was an ERROR in the Manual and to use the Lycoming torque value of 150 in/lbs. Bottom engine assembly

Case halves going together. We are tightening down the some nuts on the thru bolts to pull the halves together uniformly. Make sure to put nuts on the thru bolts on the other side so you don't pull the thru bolt right thru the case.This where the sticky axle grease comes into play for the thrust washer option. I have to look in there with a light and poke at it make sure it was in place next to the crankshaft. It fell down onto the other washer but it ended up seating up against the crank face and working out.
